James Paul Herring

Goldsboro – Mr. James Paul Herring, 78, of 1922 N. Berkeley Blvd. died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Jim and Maggie Thomas Herring and was retired from Goldsboro Builders Supply. Mr. Herring was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Sunday School and was a charter member of Pinewood Fire Department.

Graveside services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Family Cemetery, located at the corner of Corbett Road and Hood Swamp Road. Rev. Mike Grady and Rev. Craig Langston will officiate.

Mr. Herring is survived by his wife, Eleanor Smith Herring; his son, Greg Herring and wife, Brenda of Hickory; his sister, Lois Jones of Hopewell, VA; his brothers, Monroe Herring of Asheboro and Gene Herring of Charlotte; two grandsons, Jay Herring and wife, Heather and Marcus Herring and fiancée, Emilie; a great-grandson, James Gregory Herring; his sister-in-law, Lou Kearney; and a special family friend, Margie Jackson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
