Annie P. Hill

Goldsboro – Annie Bernese Pender Hill, 82, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Bernese was born in Wayne County on April 21, 1925 to the late Leslie E. Pender and Lola Hollowell Pender. She was married to the late Robert Harold Hill. Bernese was a retired elementary school teacher for Wayne County Public Schools. She was a member of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel and the Fidelis Omicron of Alpha Delta Kappa. Bernese was an active member of Goldsboro Friends Meeting.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Goldsboro Friends Meeting with David Brindle officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Bernese is survived by her son, Harold Herbert Hill and wife, Becky of Goldsboro; her daughter, Annie Hill Pigott and husband, Mac of Belhaven; her grandchildren, Jennifer Warren and Leigh Pigott; and her sisters, Mary Ellen Ham of Goldsboro, Betty Gray Allen of Smithfield and Joyce Taylor of Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Goldsboro Friends Meeting, 700 Guilford Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 297 Friendly Drive, Goldsboro.
