Stephnya Odom Hill

Pikeville – Mrs. Stephnya Odom Hill, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Faison E. Odom, Sr. and Essie King Odom and was married to the late Edward N. Hill, Sr. Mrs. Hill was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation with 27 years of service. She enjoyed beach music and was a member of the Sugar Foot Shag Club.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 6, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Bame officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her son, Edward (Chip) Hill of Durham; a daughter, Traci H. Payne of Garner; two brothers, Crouse Odom of Kinston and Faison Odom, Jr. of Mount Olive; and three grandchildren, Julie Anne Payne, Lisa Michelle Payne and Christine Marie Hill.

The family received friends Wednesday, June 5, 2002, from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
