Thelma Gay Hines

Thelma Gay Hines, 90, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Gay and Pattie Eula Mitchell Gay and was married to the late Edwin L. Hines. Mrs. Hines was a retired seamstress with Best and Sauls Men’s Shop and was a member of Oakland Church.

Graveside services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Stephen G. Reeves officiating.

Mrs. Hines is survived by her daughter, Henrietta Pearson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchild; and a sister, Alice McClenny.
