Sallie Daniels Hinnant

Goldsboro
- Mrs. Sallie Daniels Hinnant, 92, died peacefully Thursday morning
surrounded by her family. A native of Wayne County, she was the
daughter of the late Jackson Isaac and Sallie Murphrey Daniels and
was the widow of Troy Glenn Hinnant, to whom she was married for 56
years. Mrs. Hinnant was the oldest living member of Daniels Memorial
United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the original
Daniels Chapel Church. Mrs. Hinnant was involved in numerous church
activities and remained active in the church as long as her health
allowed.
A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Daniels
Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. T. R. Miller officiating.
The family will greet friends following the funeral in the
fellowship hall. After the visitation the family of Mrs. Hinnant
extends a special invitation to all family and friends to join them
for a luncheon in the fellowship hall. After the luncheon, burial
will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Surviving are daughters: Marguerite Cox and husband Marshall E. Cox
of Goldsboro; Judy Smith and husband Thomas Smith III of Nashville,
NC; son, Carleton (Bud) Hinnant and wife Julia of Hampstead, N. C.;
four grandsons, Marshall Cox Jr. and wife Rita of Nashville, TN,
Michael Glenn Cox and wife Kathy of Chapel Hill, Jeffrey Glenn Best
and wife Elizabeth of Greer, S. C., and Terry D. Best and wife
Melissa of Rocky Mount; a granddaughter, Karen Hinnant of Hampstead;
six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that
brought much enjoyment to the life of Mrs. Hinnant.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by
an infant son, Glenn Daniels Hinnant; her sisters, Mamie Daniels
Parker, Celia Daniels Casey, Lois Daniels Batson, and Ella Daniels
Casey; and her brothers, Ben W. Daniels, Sr. and Jack I. Daniels,
Jr.
The family request memorials to be made to the building fund of
Daniels Memorial Methodist Church, 2803 East Ash St., Goldsboro, NC
27534.
Arrangements are in the care of Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation
Service.
