Benjamin Anderson Holland

Goldsboro – Mr. Benjamin Anderson “Andy” Holland, 72, of 200 Hardingwood Drive, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Holland and Mary Ann Pierce Holland. Mr. Holland was retired from Southern Bell with 32 years of service and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #112 A.F. & A.M, 32nd Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner of the Sudan Temple.

Funeral services will be at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday with Dr. William Hufham officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Holland was survived by his wife, Geraldine Benton Holland; a son and daughter-in-law, David Michael Holland and wife, Wendy of Goldsboro; sisters, Ann West of Eureka, Effie Fulcher of Kinston, Mary Lee Allen of Pikeville and Marie Gilbert of Wilson; a brother, Bill Holland of Wilson; a granddaughter, Kelly Holland of Fort Lauderdale, FL and a grandson, Jonathan Holland.

Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his former wife, JoAnn Flowers Holland; four brothers, Winfrey Holland, George Holland, Milton Holland and Leon Holland; and one sister, Emma Windham.

Members of the Mini-Rigs of the Wayne Shrine Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sudan Temple Cripple and Burn Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 490, New Bern, NC 28560 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends after the service and other times at his residence.
