Velma Holliday Hollis

Mrs.
Velma Holliday Hollis, 83, of 731 Buck Swamp Road, died Friday at
the Kitty Askins Hospice Center. A native of Martin County, she was
the daughter of the late Hoyt and Frances Swain Holliday. Mrs.
Hollis was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Love Memorial
Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Warrick, Rev. Mike Dixon and Rev. Dave
Fishman officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Hollis; daughters, Nettie H.
Holmes and husband, Kenneth, Dawn H. Summerlin, Melanie H. Thompson
and husband Larry, and Sandra H. Gurley and husband Roland, all of
Goldsboro; son, Billy W. Hollis of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jay
Rollins, Pam Pike, Michelle McGarry, Mark Holmes, Keith Holmes, Tara
Bass, Amanda Thompson, Holly Lewis, Niki Gurley, Angela Hollis, and
Christopher Hollis; great-grandchildren, Dustin Pike, Brandon Pike,
Brandy Holmes, Rebecca Holmes, Elizabeth Mitchell, Rachel Taylor,
Michelle Meador, Turner Bass, and Nicholas Lewis; sister, Rachel H.
Comstock of Plymouth, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Martha Brown Holliday
of Williamston, N.C.; brother-in-law, Jack Whitfield of Hamilton,
N.C. a very special friend, Natasha S. Jones of Goldsboro.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice
Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church
and will be at the residence at other times.
