Borden Lynwood Holloman

Goldsboro – Mr. Borden Lynwood Holloman, 82, passed away on Sunday,
September 19, 2004 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr. Holloman was the son of the late Daniel Z. Holloman and Mabel
Coor Holloman. He served in the United States Army 101st Calvary
Unit during World War II. One of his greatest pleasures was getting
together with his army buddies each year at their reunion in
Goldsboro. He went to State College prior to his Army Service and
graduated from King’s Business College in 1947. Mr. Holloman retired
from Coble Dairies as Division Controller in 1988 and spent his
retirement doing volunteer work. He was a member of the Golden K
Kiwanis Club and served as treasurer for several years. He received
the Kiwanian of the Year Award in 1994. Mr. Holloman was a member of
St. Luke United Methodist Church where he was an active member of
the Wesley Fellowship Class and the United Methodist Men.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke United
Methodist Church with Rev. Jean Hood officiating. Burial will follow
in Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edith G. Holloman; his son,
Marc L. Holloman and wife, Debi of Goldsboro; his daughter, Kea H.
Oboth and husband, Steve of Lynchburg, VA; his sister, Julia H.
Nedroscik of Plymouth, MI; his grandchildren, Kristin Holloman of
Atlantic Beach, Carly Oboth and Clay Oboth of Lynchburg, VA; and his
nieces and nephews, Danny Bradley, Barbara Greene, and Jerry
Bradley, all of Forest City, Carolyn Oberstaedt of South Lyon, MI
and Dianne Brown of Gregory, MI.
Mr. Holloman was preceded in death by his sisters, Verna H. Bradley
and Wilda Holloman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Luke United
Methodist Church Pastor’s Discretionary Fund or the St. Luke Youth
Volunteers In Mission Scholarship Fund, 1608 E. Pine Street,
Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at
Seymour Funeral Home.
