Nannie C. Hollowell


Kinston – Mrs. Nannie Cox Hollowell, 91, died Friday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Elam Jehu Cox and Lelia Hinnant Cox and was the widow of William Ralph “Bill” Hollowell. Mrs. Hollowell was a member of Queen Street United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro with Rev. Jean Hood officiating.

Mrs. Hollowell is survived by her sons, Billy Gerald Hollowell and wife Shella of Jacksonville, FL, Donald Ray Hollowell and wife Ruth of Kinston and Tommy Hollowell and wife Angie of Kinston; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Elizabeth Cox Hood of Goldsboro and Grace Cox Lane of Mount Olive; a brother, William G. Cox of Goldsboro; many nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Mike Wiggins.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor Cox, Toby Cox and Henry Cox; and a sister, Fannie Cox.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.
