Charlie Wilburn Jackson

Goldsboro – Mr. Charlie Wilburn Jackson, 80, of 988 Dobbersville Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Henderson, he was the son of the late Charlie Wilson Jackson and Lillie Norris Jackson and was a retired social worker with the State of Massachusetts. Mr. Jackson served in the Fourth Infantry Division 20th Field Artilery of the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Rev. Ron Varner and Rev. Eugene Warrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery in Coats, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Stewart Jackson; daughters, Janice Jackson White of Sioux City, Iowa and Dorothy Lonergan of Bridgewater, Mass.; sons, Warren Jackson of Topsail Island, Johnnie Jackson of Greenville and Martin Jackson of Dudley; sisters, Jessie Marshall of Raleigh and Harriett Gupton of Henderson; brothers, Fred Jackson of Henderson and Leslie Jackson of Hampstead; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruby Stewart of Erwin and a brother-in-law, Milton Hobson of Burlington.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
