Vivie McClenny Johnson

Goldsboro – Mrs. Vivie McClenny Johnson, 103, died Thursday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Will Josephous McClenny and Emma Cogdell McClenny and was the widow of Louis Preston Johnson. She was a dedicated charter member of the First Christian Church and was a member of Oak Heights Homemakers Club.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Glenwood P. Johnson of Goldsboro; daughters, Ann J. Hammond of Garner, Vivie J. Wiggins and husband Charles of Melbourne, Florida and Gloria J. Fletcher of Greenville; a brother, Merl McClenny of Goldsboro; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Norene J. Clement.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 1609 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
