Dorothy Grant Jones

Mount Olive – Mrs. Dorothy Grant Jones, 76, of 579 Cox Pond Road, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late George W. Grant and Addie Grant and was married to the late Floyd Joseph Jones. Mrs. Jones enjoyed fishing, gardening and dancing. She had formerly worked with the Young Squire in Mount Olive.

Graveside services will be Sunday, June 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Warren officiating.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Wanda Strickland and her husband, Larry of Mount Olive; a son, Jimmy Jones of Patetown; five grandchildren, Shawn Strickland, Larry Strickland II, Amber Jones, Shannon Jones and Chasity Jones Roberts; great-grandchildren, Khali Roberts, Kristen Strickland, Caroline Strickland, Dylan Strickland, and Rebecca Strickland; and a half brother, Willie Gurley of Saulston.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Strickland.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 15, 2002, from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 170 E. Pine Forest Road, Mount Olive.
