Jerry Lee Jones

Goldsboro – Jerry Lee Jones, 57, died Tuesday at his home.

Jerry was born in Wayne County on November 14, 1950 to the late Marvin Jones and Kathleen Kennedy Jones. He had worked as an electrician with Dewey Brothers. Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Goldsboro High School and served his country in Germany with the United States Army. He was an avid fisherman and loved pulling for his favorite basketball team, North Carolina State University.

Private graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. Rev. Harvey Parrish will officiate.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Patience J. Buchholz and her husband, Jeremy of Omaha, Nebraska; three granddaughters; his sisters, Judy Tew and husband, Charlie of Goldsboro and Joyce Lane of Goldsboro; and his dear friends, Richard Engle and wife, Cindy of Goldsboro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Jones and Johnny Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veteran’s or the charity of one’s choice.
