Jimmie Jones

Jimmie Jones, 54, died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.


A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Kathleen Kennedy Jones and the late Marvin Jones and formerly worked with Franklin Baking Company. Mr. Jones was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.


Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harvey Parrish officiating.


In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jacob Jones and his wife, Brook; brothers, Jerry Jones and Johnnie Jones; sisters, Joyce Lane and Judy Tew and husband, Charlie; and a grandson, Hunter Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
