Myrtie Walker Jones

LaGrange – Mrs. Myrtie Walker Jones, 80, of 679 Mark Edwards Road, died Monday at her home.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Bunn Walker and Effie Smith Walker and was married to the late Jasper Jones. Mrs. Jones was a retired waitress from the Palace Motel in New Bern and had worked with Flossie’s Lunch and Central Lunch in Goldsboro. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Sauls officiating. Entombment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Dollie Edmundson and husband, Edward Lee Edmundson of LaGrange; a brother, Raeford Walker of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Linda Edmundson of Fremont and Brenda Paul and husband, Joey of Fremont; and two great-grandchildren, Shayne Edward Paul and Franki L. Paul.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Walker, Ernest Walker, Henry Walker, and Rudolph Walker and her sister, Sally Benton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service and other times at the residence.
