Charles Vernon Kearney

Jacksonville, FL - Mr. Charles Vernon Kearney, 55, of 1513 S. Orlando Circle, died Tuesday at Jackonsville Baptist Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Betty Yelverton Kearney and the late Brodie Milton Kearney and was working as a dental technician in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Kearney was a graduate of Goldsboro High School, where he played football.

A celebration of Vernon’s life will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Lee Kearney and wife Sue of Goldsboro and William Russell Kearney and wife Linda of Goldsboro; a sister, Hope Kearney of Goldsboro; three sons, Scott Kearney, Brian Spencer and Jeffrey Spencer, all of Raleigh; two granddaughters, Kimber Kearney and Katlyn Spencer; special friends, Richard Ossi and Pam Baker, both of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Building Fund, 1101 First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
