Leon Kelly

LaGrange - Mr. Leon Kelly, 81, went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 11, 2003 at his home.

A native of Marlboro County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John Butler Kelly and Wilma Laviner Kelly and was married to the late Ellen Peele Kelly. Mr. Kelly retired from Bethlehem Steel and served in the United States Army during World War II. He had attended Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Grady officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Charlotte H. Peele Kelly; his daughters, Millie Pearce and Nancy Wheeler, both of Charleston SC; a brother, Carroll Kelly of Cheraw, SC and a sister, Nell Bradshaw of Archdale; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Sharon Fleeman and husband Neil Fleeman of North Augusta, SC and a stepson, Michael B. Peele and wife, Sandra T. Peele of Goldsboro; four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his sisters, Addie Ratliff and Meater Driggers and his brothers, Marvin Kelly, J.B. Kelly and Wilson Kelly.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the funeral service at Seymour Funeral Home. and other times at his home.
