Edna Loraine Kuretsch

Edna Loraine Kuretsch, 76, formerly of Goldsboro, died Wednesday at the Hospice Solace Center in Asheville. Mrs. Kuretsch had been a resident of the Asheville Manor in Asheville since August, 2002.

Mrs. Kuretsch was born in Swansboro to the late Herbert L. Ward and Thelma L. Ward and was the widow of Richard Kuretsch, Sr. Ms. Kuretsch loved children and ran a day care center until she retired in 1994. She will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as a sweet, kind, and loving person. She will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Patetown Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.

She is survived by her daughters, Karan Kuretsch of Asheville, N.C. and Loraine Forrest of Durham; her grandchildren, Chris Brown of Columbia, S.C., Christy Forrest Krupinski of Durham and Mark Forrest of Clayton, N.C.; her great-grandchildren, Dalton Forrest of Clayton, N.C., Allen Forrest of Clayton, N.C. and Dean Forrest of Clayton, N.C.; and her sisters, Margaret Griffin of LaPlata, Maryland and Eleanor Tanner of Raleigh, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Kuretsch, Jr. and her sisters, Ruth Lockhart and Lila Gibson.

Her family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Asheville Manor for their caring and support. Also, much appreciation is given to Mountain Area Hospice for their care, kindness and support.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
