Ervin Daniel Lancaster

Pikeville - Mr. Ervin Daniel Lancaster, 85, of 1284 Big Daddy’s Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Mack and Elmer Pate Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster was a retired farmer and an active member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hollowell and Rev. Gerald Massey officiating. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Mildred Bogue Lancaster; daughter, Donna Kornegay and husband Linwood of Dudley; son, Dwight and Lynn Lancaster of Pikeville; sisters, Pauline Davis of Fremont, Evelyn Lancaster and Hilda Peele both of Pikeville, and Iva West of New Bern; brother, Mack Lancaster, Jr. of Pikeville; daughter-in-law, Janie Lancaster of Raleigh; grandchildren, Judy Barnes, Cindy Kornegay, and Lance Kornegay; great-grandchildren, Skylar Barnes, Tyler Barnes, Jaden Sullivan, Chance Sullivan, Kelsey Kornegay, Caleb Kornegay, and McKala Kornegay.

Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by two sons, William Ervin Lancaster and Frankie Lancaster and two brothers, Clinton and Wylie Lancaster.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at the residence at other times.
