Thad Wiley Lancaster

Pikeville – Mr. Thad Wiley Lancaster, 60, of 863 Lancaster Road, died Tuesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Mack Daniel Lancaster, Sr. and Elma Pate Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster was a life long farmer of the Patetown community and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Massey and Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Howell Lancaster; a son, Michael Lancaster and wife, Dana of Pikeville; a daughter, Betsy Hill and husband, Donald of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Chandler Tyndall, Joshua Lancaster and Riley Lancaster; brothers, Ervin Lancaster, Clinton Lancaster and Mack Lancaster, Jr. all of Pikeville; sisters, Pauline Davis of Fremont, Iva West of New Bern, Evelyn Lancaster and Hilda Peele both of Pikeville.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 610 Mount Carmel Church Road, Pikeville, NC 27863.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 PM at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
