Mr. Alvin "Billy" Lane
Goldsboro, NC - Mr. Alvin "Billy" Lane, 67, of 113
Cassedale Drive, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
.
A native of Sampson County, he was the son of the late Lemuel and
Katie Hare Lane and was the owner of Al's Home Improvements.
Mr. Lane was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member
of the Goldsboro Golf Club.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at The First
Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and Rev.
Gene Turner officiating. Burial will follow in
Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Callie Ward Lane; two daughters,
Shelley Sharpe and Tammy Radford, both of Goldsboro; a son, Ronnie
James Lane of LaGrange; a stepdaughter, Wendy Morton of LaGrange;
two stepsons, John Sutherland, Jr. and Robin Sutherland, both of
Goldsboro; five sisters, Letha Godfrey of Cornelia, Georgia, Jean
Halas of Hampstead, Lou Ann Bell of Garner, Grace Bass of Clinton
and Virginia Parker of Wilmington; four brothers, James "Jim"
William Lane of Warner Robbins, Georgia, J. T. Daw, Jr. of
Clinton, Kenneth "Ken" Daw of Hampstead and Roy Daw of
Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren, Jennie Harris, Michelle
Sharpe, Tral Lane, Christopher Lane, Zachary Lane and Virginia
Paige Radford; a great grandson, Austin Harris; and five step
grandchildren, Shannon Morton, Robert Morton, Christopher Dale
Morton, Tara Leigh Sutherland and John Sutherland III.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy
Lane and Jerry Lane.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to The First
Pentecostal
Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 until 9 PM at
Seymour Funeral
Home, and at other times at the residence.
