Ricky Vann "Rick" Lane II

Mr. Ricky Vann "Rick" Lane II, 25, of Greenville died Wednesday in Atlanta, GA.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Ricky V. Lane and Sarah G. Lane of Goldsboro. Rick was a member of the Children of the Confederacy, Dixie Chapter Number 838. He served as custodian General, North Carolina Division President, North Carolina Division Historian, chapter president and chapter vice president. Having attended Eastern Wayne High School and East Carolina University, he was a founding brother for the Chi Phi Fraternity.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Gordon Clarke and Bill Garner officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Amanda Bonds and her husband, Doug of Greenville; maternal grandparents, Jarvis and Joyce Garris of Goldsboro and his paternal grandmother, Leerene Lane of Goldsboro.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to New Hope Friends Church, 4451 E. US 70 Hwy., Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will be at the home of his parents, 208 Lake Ridge Drive, Goldsboro.
