Daniel Robert Lanier

Mr. Daniel Robert “Dan” Lanier, 75, died Tuesday at Britthaven Nursing Home in Goldsboro.

Mr. Lanier was born on July 2, 1928 to the late Benjamin Lanier and Laura Collier Lanier. He was retired from J.P. Stevens Company.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Wrenn Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.

Mr. Lanier is survived by his wife, Alma Hancock Lanier; a son, Robert Jackson Lanier and wife Maria Busa Lanier; a daughter, Danita Lanier Sisemore; his grandsons, Lenard B. Lanier and Thomas R. Lanier; sisters-in-laws, Selma Lee Lanier, Margaret Brown, Hazel Welch, Thelma Kasper, Betty Sanderson, JoAnn Smith, and brothers-in-law, Allen Welch and Pender Lee Smith; and twenty-two nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertie Bessie Kilpatrick, Annie Mae Lyles and Flora Elizabeth Martin; and one brother, Edward Clarence (Bud) Lanier.

Memorials may be made to the North Carolina State Park Service, 1615 MSC, Raleigh, NC 27699.

A visitation will be held at the home of Thelma Kasper, 408 Cedar Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC on January 30, 2004 after 1 p.m. and following the service on January 31, 2004.
