Archie H. Lewis

Mr. Archie Haskett Lewis, 90, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend entered into the joy of the Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2003.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late William Henry Lewis and Esther Caroline Overbee Lewis. Mr. Lewis was retired from the Wayne County Public Schools with 31 years of service. He was a member of Oak Ridge Church of God of Prophecy and served as an usher.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lutrell Spell and Rev. Guy T. Robinson officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Howell Lewis; his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Helen and Leon Capps of Goldsboro, Brenda and Thomas Wiley of Goldsboro, and Barbara and Jimmy Shelton of Goldsboro; a son and daughter-in-law, William Eugene and Tosca Lewis of Salinas, CA; twelve grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Haskett Lewis.

Grandsons of Mr. Lewis will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday following the funeral service and other times at his home, 1796 US 111 Hwy. North, Goldsboro.
