Amelia Savage Lingle

Goldsboro – Mrs. Amelia Savage Lingle, 78, of 107 Powers Court, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert M. Savage and Dora Mae Fulghum Savage. Mrs. Lingle was the owner and operator of Mickey’s Boutique. An avid bridge player, she had been a member of the Goldsboro Woman’s Club and the Goldsboro Garden Club. Mrs. Lingle was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and had volunteered as a troop leader with the Girl Scouts and with the Meals on Wheels program at Morehead City.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Dr. Billy Seate officiating. A private interment will be at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Lingle is survived by her husband, David O. Lingle; her daughters, Donna Lingle Ray of Raleigh and Barbara Lingle Honeycutt and husband Brooks Honeycutt, Jr. of Wilson; her grandchildren, Brooks Honeycutt III and William David Honeycutt; her sisters, Dorothy Hackman, Mrs. George F. Wilson and Alice Searles, all of Goldsboro; and two brothers, George Marshall Savage of Goldsboro and John Savage of Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at St. Paul United Methodist Church and other times at her residence.
