Joseph Ross Lugo

Pikeville – Mr. Joseph Ross Lugo, 14, of 6008 Fort Run Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Joe was born in the Republic of Panama to TSGT Michael Raymond Lugo and Sandra Kaye Johnson Lugo. He was a freshman at Eastern Wayne High School where he played junior varsity soccer. Joe also played soccer and basketball while attending Carter Christian Academy. He was a member of the First Assembly of God and worked with the light and sound team for the Power House Youth Ministry and First Assembly Services.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the First Assembly of God with Pastor Ralph Painter, Youth Pastor Terry Gainer and Rev. Bernard L. Pulliam officiating. Entombment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his sister, Angelina Louise Lugo of the home; maternal grandparents, Gail and Louise Johnson of Dudley; paternal grandparents, Michael P. Lugo of Aurora, IL and Angeline Lugo of Oak Forest, IL; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jason Lugo.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
