Ollie Holmes Uzzell Malone

Goldsboro – Mrs. Ollie Holmes Uzzell Malone, 82, of 392 Uzzell Road, died Thursday at her home.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Oliver Holmes and Myrtie Walker Holmes and was married to the late Prentice Uzzell and Ryan Malone. Mrs. Malone was a member of Casey’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.

Mrs. Malone is survived by her daughter, Sandra Creech Mendell and husband, Ron Mendell of Goldsboro; her son, Rayburn Uzzell and wife, Donna of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Chris Creech and wife, Teresa of LaGrange, Cindy Weeks and husband David of Goldsboro, Prentice Uzzell and wife, Dianne of Goldsboro and Julie Daniels and husband, Eddie of Goldsboro; her great-grandchildren, Lee Daniels, Luke Creech, Ken Weeks, Emily Uzzell and Will Uzzell; her step-grandchildren, Brian Mendell of Greenville and Mark Mendell and his wife, Angela of Elizabethtown; and three step-great-grandchildren, Courtney Mendell, Lexie Mendell, and Lorna Jade Mendell.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kenneth Creech and a great-granddaughter, Nicole Uzzell Daniels. Mrs. Malone was also preceded in death this week by her step-granddaughter and her family, Lisa M. Harris and husband, Nathan Harris II and their children, Sueanna Harris and Nathan Harris III.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Casey’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 4913 U.S. 70 East, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Friday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and other times at the home of Rayburn and Donna Uzzell, 432 Uzzell Road, Goldsboro.
