Mary Smith Manning

Mrs. Mary Smith Manning, 77, of Princeton, died Wednesday at the Brian Center.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Smith and Mary Elizabeth Gurley Smith. Mrs. Manning was a member of Brogden Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bessie Murphy and Rev. Martie Massey officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Manning is survived by her husband, Johney Leroy Manning; two daughters, Mary (Liz) Brady of Princeton and Linda Kay Blankenship of Maiden; two sons, Lloyd Leroy Manning of Burlington and John Gary Manning of Wallace; a sister, Ellen Yelverton of Goldsboro; two brothers, Aaron Smith of Goldsboro and J.B. Smith of Goldsboro; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 1616 Old Rock Quarry Road, Princeton.
