Carrie Hughes Martin

Goldsboro – Mrs. Carrie Hughes Martin, 75, a resident of Country Side Living, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth Simmons Hughes and the widow of Hubert Henderson Martin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Berry House officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy M. Carmack of Seven Springs; her sons, Robert H. Martin, Sr. of Pierron, IL, Alton Martin of Goldsboro and Danny Ray Martin of South Korea; her sister, Maggie Lane and Beulah Hinson, both of Goldsboro; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church, 206 Country Day Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Alton Martin, 339 Combs Road, Goldsboro.
