Thelma Rains Martin

Goldsboro – Thelma Rains Martin, 74, died Monday at Duke University Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Leona Rains and had worked with Cooper-Bussmann.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Lewis Baker officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hastings Cemetery, Goldsboro.

She is survived by a son, Jackie Scott and wife, Cathy of Four Oaks; a grandson, Ken Scott of Goldsboro; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Scott of Smithfield. She is also survived by her stepchildren and their families, Diane Coffey of Princeton, Linda Raines of Princeton and Dennis Martin of Goldsboro.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy Rains and Dalma Rains.

The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Steve and Diane Coffey, 2564B Old Smithfield Road, Princeton.
