Harold Edward Massengill

Goldsboro - Mr. Harold Edward Massengill, Sr.,73 , of 102 Amelia Court, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Mamie Holloman Massengill. Mr. Massengill was owner and operator of Harold’s Auto Sales since 1963, a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and a life member of the VFW.

Funeral service will be 7 PM Monday night at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Cordell, Rev. Jimmy Whitfield, and Rev. L. D. Creech officiating. Internment will be 10 A. M. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Surviving: wife, Ila Lee Holland Massengill; daughter, Terry Mitchell and husband Danny of Goldsboro; son, Eddie Massengill of Goldsboro; sisters, Hilda House of Selma, Janet Creech and husband Rev. L. D. Creech of Clinton, Joyce Joyner and husband Bob of Goldsboro; Barbara Gresko and husband Chuck of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Justin Mitchell and Trey Massengill.

Mr. Massengill was preceded in death by a brother Bill Massengill.

The family will receive friends following the service until 9 P. M. and at other times will be at the residence.
