Ruby Costin Massey

Dudley – Mrs. Ruby Costin Massey, 86, of 200 Massey Road, died Thursday at the Brian Center.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Costin and Effie Summerlin Costin. Mrs. Massey was a former bookkeeper with S.H. Kress Company and was a member of Goldsboro Friends Meeting.

Funeral services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Goldsboro Friends Meeting with Willie Frye and Beth Zuehlke officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollowell Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Massey is survived by her husband, E. Conard Massey; her daughters, Mary Massey New and husband, Vernon of Charlotte and Louise Massey Braswell and husband, Wesley of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Emily New, Jimmy New and Daniel (Chipper) New, Sandy Braswell and David Braswell; brothers, J. Ray Costin and wife, Louise of Charlotte and Milford Costin and wife, Yoko of Petersburg, VA; and nieces and nephews, Jimmy Wall, Nancy Wall Heath, Janet C. Blane, John R. Costin and Julie Costin-Keim.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Goldsboro Friends Meeting, 700 Guilford Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or the Hollowell Cemetery Fund, in care of Lavee H. Coone Trustee, 2244 Stevens Mill Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530-9728.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
