Francis Phillip Matthews II

Goldsboro – Mr. Francis Phillip “Phil” Matthews II, 56, of 312 Redwood Trail, died Wednesday at Duke University Medical Center.

A native of Goldsboro, Mr. Matthews was the son of the late Col. Francis Phillip Matthews and Dorothy Hildreth Matthews. He was salesman with Matthews Motors in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. William Hufham and Rev. John Wynings officiating. Burial will follow in the Brogden Cemetery.

Mr. Matthews is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Matthews Clifton of Longwood, FL; his brother, Steve Matthews of Clayton; his sister, Debbie Matthews Bronner of Goldsboro; his fiancée, Mary Haskins of Valdosta, Georgia and his grandchildren, Madison Rene’ and Paul Phillip Clifton.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
