Evelyn Baddour Mauro

Goldsboro – Evelyn Baddour Mauro, 87, died Tuesday at the Brian Center.

A native of New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late S. Baddour and Victoria Alkazin Baddour and was married to the late Louis A. Mauro, Sr. She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. A retired Registered Nurse, having taught nursing at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Mauro helped organize the LPN program at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She concluded her nursing career in the pediatric program at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Louis A. Mauro, Jr. and wife, Susan of Manteo; two grandchildren, Rebecka Ann Mauro and Louis A. Mauro III; sister, Mary Baddour Walker of Goldsboro; brothers, Philip Baddour, Sr. and Mitchell Baddour both of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A Wake service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the Wake service and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Baddour, Sr., 1604 Stephens Street, Goldsboro.
