Michael Shawn Maynard

Goldsboro – Michael Shawn Maynard, 30, of 176 Garrick Lane, died Thursday at his home.

Shawn was born in Wayne County and was the son of Gary Michael Maynard of Goldsboro, and David and Marcia Morgan Colona of Dillwyn, VA. He was a 1992 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and was a faithful employee of C & J. Carpets of Smithfield. Shawn was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Goldsboro.

A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of Ronald and Louetta Morgan, 104 Danny Circle, Goldsboro.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his heart and soul, the light of his life, his children, Jordan Chae Eastman and Cora Bailey Maynard, both of Goldsboro. He spent the majority of his time building memories with Chae and Bailey as a loving and devoted father. Surviving also, Elizabeth Ann Maynard, mother of Chae and Bailey. Shawn is the grandson of Ronald and Louetta Morgan of Goldsboro and the late Floyd and Gladys Maynard. He is survived by a sister, Hollie Beth Maynard of Dillwyn, VA to whom he was a wonderful brother. Shawn was a loving nephew of Jerry Mitchell Maynard of Goldsboro, Donnie and Patty Gray of Sims, Ronald Lee Morgan of Smithfield, and Jeff and Cheryl Andras of Goldsboro. He will be greatly missed by cousins, Neil and Lisa Radford, Cameron and Courtney of Wake Forest, Jimmy and Christy Boksh of Newport News, VA, Aselin Bass and Sage Andras, both of Goldsboro. Ebelia Aradin Maynard, his only niece, loved her adoring uncle.

Shawn touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all.
