Hattie Cotton McClenny

Goldsboro – Mrs. Hattie Cotton McClenny, 92, died Sunday at Kitty
Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie
Cotton and P. Ella Rouse Cotton and was married to the late Junnie
A. McClenny. Mrs. McClenny had a great love for the Lord and an
abundance of love for her family. She loved everyone and loved life.
Second Baptist Church was very important to her and she attended
faithfully until her health did not allow her too. Mrs. McClenny had
a very bright sense of humor until the end. She was a great
inspiration to everyone that knew her. Mrs. McClenny was a stay at
home mom and her children always knew where they could find her when
they needed her.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Tom Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne
Memorial Park.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce Smith, Betty Case, Barbara Price
and Mickey McLawhorn, all of Goldsboro and a son, Bill McClenny of
Goldsboro; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and six
great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church,
1700 E. Beech Street, Goldsboro or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402
Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour
Funeral Home and other times at Betty Case, 702 N. Spence Ave., Apt.
904, Golsdboro, NC 27530.
