Joseph S. Medford

Goldsboro – Mr. Joseph "Joe" S. Medford, 81, of 942 NC 581 South, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Cumberland County, NC, he was the son of the late Noyel John Medford and Geneva Bryant Medford and was married to the late Dorothy Lancaster Medford. Mr. Medford was a retired mechanical maintenance supervisor with Cherry Hospital and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 PM at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Whitfield and Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by his daughter, Kay M. Trachtenberg and husband, Joseph of Shelby; a brother, Jesse N. Medford of Clinton; a sister, Elizabeth Ricks of Clewiston, FL and two granddaughters, Melissa Trachtenberg and husband Michael Strickland, and Rebecca Trachtenberg and her friend, Donald Ball, all of Durham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the choice of one’s choice.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
