Ethel Ellis Merritt

Goldsboro - Mrs. Ethel Teachey Ellis Merritt, 85, formerly of the Sterling House, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Merritt was the daughter of James and Pearl Lancaster Teachey and the widow of Raymond Ellis and Dick Merritt. She was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Saulston United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Ward officiating. Burial will follow at the Teachey Family Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Buck and husband, David of Atlanta, Georgia and Bonnie Lewis and husband, David of Greenville; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Howard Ellis.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Saulston United Methodist Church, 5014 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and David Lewis, 1723 Beaumont Drive, Greenville.
