Gaynelle Holmes Mewborn

Goldsboro – Gaynelle Holmes Mewborn, 62, of 3943 US 13 N, died Wednesday at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of Winnie B. Peek of Panama City, FL and the late Harvey Holmes. She was a member of Yelverton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mewborn was the owner and operator of Gay’s Beauty Salon, where she was a beautician.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Glenn Mewborn; daughters, Debbie Mewborn Hames and husband, Steve of Asheboro and Pam Smith and husband, Howard of Goldsboro; granddaughter, Amy Hames Jackson and husband, Lee of Asheboro; and sister, Dusty Faye Kosco of Panama City, FL.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Holmes.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
