Virginia W. Moffatt

Mrs. Virginia W. Moffatt went to be with her Lord on October 3, 2002. “Ginny” was born June 7, 1922 and was the daughter of the late “Paddy” and Ruth Wise of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. (Dick) Moffatt. She was a long standing member of First Presbyterian Church, where over the years she was active in the choir and missions relief. She was treasurer of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary for over 20 years and also had been a volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Moffatt was fundamental in the establishment of Wayside Fellowship Home for Women.

She is survived by her son, Richard and wife, Carol Moffatt; a daughter, Molly and husband, Myron Hale; grandchildren, Kathleen and husband, Richard Motes, Richard B. Moffatt III, Jesse M. Adams and Christian Lee Adams; and great-grandchildren, Virginia J., Sarah C. and Richard Z. Motes.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary or the Richard B. and Virginia W. Moffatt Scholarship %Wayne Community College or the charity of one’s choice.

A celebration of her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 6, 2002, at 7 p.m., with visitation following the service in memorial hall.
