Susie Willoughby Newsome

Goldsboro, NC - Mrs. Susie Willoughby Newsome,91, of 753 N. C. 581 S. in the Rosewood community, died today at the Brian Center. A native of Pitt County, she was the daughter of the late Ruel and Anne Dora Harrell Willoughby and the widow of Bunyan Council Newsome.Mrs. Newsome was a charter member and the oldest member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 3 P. M. Sunday at Rosewood First Baptist Church with Rev. E. C. Mattocks and Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Rebecca Anderson of Saratoga, Florida and Maxine Maloney and husband Bill of Martinez, Georgia; grandchildren, Patrick Alford, Mark Anderson, Susan Swinson, and Andrea Maloney; great-grandchildren, Jason and Jennifier Swinson and Madison and Mark Anderson, Jr.; sister-in-laws, Margaret Willoughby of Goldsboro, Eleanor McCandless of Wilmington, and Hazel Newsome of Goldsboro; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Newsome was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Alford; sisters, Erma Warrick and Ruth Williams; brothers, Mirt and Thomas Willoughby

The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7-9 P. M. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
