Walter C. Outland Jr.

Four Oaks – Mr. Walter C. Outland, Jr., 85, of 501 Harper House Road, died Friday at Smithfield Manor.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Walter C. Outland, Sr. and Sophronia Jinnette Outland. Mr. Outland was a retired farmer in the Bentonville area and was a member of the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.

Mr. Outland is survived by his nieces, Shirley Baker of Lydale, TX and Phyllis Bilskis of Chesapeake, VA and his nephews, O.D. Harcum, Jr. of China Grove, Jerry Harcum of Suffolk, VA, Raymond Harcum of China Grove, Rodger Harcum of Chesapeake, VA and Richard Harcum of Kill Devil Hills.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Peck and Mildred Harcum.

The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
