Richard James Overton, III

Goldsboro – CMSgt Richard James Overton III, Retired U.S.A.F., 77, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Richard was born in Mecklenburg County on February 1, 1931 to the late Richard James Overton, Jr. and Velma Skidmore Overton. He retired from the United States Air Force with 27 years of service. Following his military career, Richard worked with Kemp Furniture.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.

Richard is survived by his wife, June Neugent Overton; his daughters, Debbie O. Richardson and husband, Ed of Fuquay-Varina and Kay O. Casey and husband, Ralph of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at Seymour Funeral Home.
