Billy Gene Owens

Goldsboro – Mr. Billy Gene Owens, 71, died Thursday at his residence.

A native of Logan County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Dewey Owens and Cecil Mildred Caudill Owens and was married to the late Rosa Dolly Conley Owens. Mr. Owens was a retired truck driver for American Freight and a veteran of the United States Army.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV. Burial will follow in Stonewall-Conley Cemetery in Logan, WV.

Mr. Owens is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Nelson and a son-in-law Michael Nelson of Goldsboro and Mary Owens of Ohio; his son, Clarence Owens of Logan, WV; and a step-son, Johnny Owens; his sister Audrey Lou Owens of Logan, WV; and his brothers, Franklin Owen of Logan, WV and Ronald Owens of Ohio.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by two brothers; Eddie Owens and Clyde Owens.

Family will receive friends Monday at Freeman Funeral Home, 208 S. Main Street, Chapmanville, WV.
