Robert Pate

Goldsboro – Mr. Robert Pate, 74, of 609 Kentucky Drive, died Sunday at his home.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Barnie Pate and Irene Dixon Pate. Mr. Pate was a retired salesman with Jeffrey’s Seed Company and was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Pate had served in the United States Marine Corps.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Love Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. George Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Pate is survived by his wife, Ruby Hare Pate; a daughter and special son-in-law, Pat and Pete Smith of Goldsboro; a daughter, Jenny Pate Faucette of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Michael Smith of Goldsboro, Lisa Gery and husband, Bryan of Morrisville, and Brandon Faucette and fiancée, Julie Hinson of Goldsboro; and two brothers, Morris Pate of Goldsboro and Earl Pate of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Toby Faucette.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
