William (Bill) Edward Pate
Goldsboro – William (Bill) Edward Pate, 79, of 1900
Wayne Memorial Drive, died Thursday evening at the Brian Center.
Born in Lenoir County and a resident of Wayne County for most of his life,
he was the son of the late Ernest Woodley and Katherine Wells Pate and was
the widow of Pauline Davis Pate. He was a member of the Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as Deacon,
was past president of the Bob Self Sunday school class, past assistant superintendent of the
Sunday school and was past president of the Men’s Fellowship Choir. Mr.
Pate was retired from civil service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the
Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Shelton Whitman officiating.
Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his sisters, Sarah P. Howell of Warsaw
and Edna P. Howell of Victoria, VA.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Annette Todd,
Margaret Brendle, Helen Nickens and Beulah P. Long; and brothers, John Pate, Milton Pate and
Buddy Pate.

Holiness Church, 1000 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home
from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
