James Clifton Peacock

Goldsboro – Mr. James Clifton Peacock, 89, of 388 Buck Swamp Road, died Friday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late James C. Peacock, Sr. and Ida Mae Perkins Peacock and was married to the late Thelma Seymour Peacock. Mr. Peacock was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years. He was also Past Master of Goldsboro Masonic Lodge #634, a member of Sudan Temple and the Sudan Temple Wrecking Crew and a charter member and past president of the Golden K Kiwanis. Mr. Peacock was an avid Ham Radio Operator and retired from Sears & Roebuck after twenty five years of service.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Salter officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, George S. Peacock of Raleigh; a sister, Virginia Peacock White of Cumming, Ga.; three grandchildren, George Kelvin Peacock and wife, Sue, James Lynn Peacock and wife Kim and Amy Peacock Samosky and husband, Paul, and four great grandchildren, Allison Peacock, Molly Peacock, Lisa Peacock and Davis Peacock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Salem United Methodist Church Grange Renovation Fund, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Seymour Funeral Home.
