Roy Rogers Pearce

Goldsboro – Mr. Roy Rogers Pearce, 59, of 142 Betty Drive, died at
home on Friday after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Pearce was a carpenter in Wayne County for 42 years. He was
beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, and a special
friend to many.
He was born to Milton and Mary Pipkin Pearce on December 6, 1944. He
was one of six children.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol Carter Pearce of the
home; three children, Roy Wayne Pearce and fiancé, Melissa Bryan of
Goldsboro, Kimberly Pennington of Grantham and David Milton Pearce
of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Trey and Taylor Pearce and Joshua
and Jarred Pennington; three sisters, Lola Boswell of Goldsboro,
Marlene Jernigan and husband, Jimmy of Charlotte and Pat Miller and
husband, George of Pikeville; his mother-in-law, Thelma Pate and
husband, Pete of Magnolia; several nieces and nephews; and very
special friends, Junior and Shirley Toler and Family and Donna
Gainey and Family.
Mr. Pearce was preceded in death by his mother and father, paternal
and maternal grandparents, and two brothers, Donnie Pearce and Jesse
Pearce.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 24, at 3:30 PM at the chapel
of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Toler officiating.. Burial
will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Pearce, Willie Spence, Doug
Jernigan, Jamie Toler, Joe Wade and Robbie Hamm. Alternate
pallbearers are David Pearce and Dwayne Pearce.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7 until 9:30 P. M.
at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
