Nina Ellis Pierce

Goldsboro – Mrs. Nina Ellis Pierce, 84, died Wednesday at Woodard’s Care.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin J. Ellis and Katie Vinson Ellis and was the widow of Carl Wendell Pierce. Mrs. Pierce worked as a cafeteria assistant with the public schools and was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Rick Ward officiating.

Mrs. Pierce is survived by her son, William Guy Pierce of Goldsboro; her daughters, Carolyn L. Felter of Silver Spring, MD and Mary Elizabeth Reed of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Hazel Ellis Shirley of Kannopolis; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Phoebe Ellis, Esther Faulkner, Inez Ellis and Mildred Strickland; and her brothers, Benjamin Ellis and Raymond Ellis.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
