Doris Mumford Pipkin

Goldsboro – Mrs. Doris Mumford Pipkin, 81, of 302 S. Jefferson Street, died Tuesday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Lenoir County, she was the daughter of the late John Warren Mumford and Helen Nutt Mumford and was the former bookkeeper for Griffin’s Barbeque and of Wilber’s Barbeque. Mrs. Pipkin was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Dulaney officiating.

Mrs. Pipkin is survived by her husband, Marion Russell Pipkin, Jr.; and a son, Marion Russell Pipkin, III of Rockingham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and other times at the residence.
